Dear Autumn, welcome! We celebrate you with this magnificent, easy-to-make, and very healthy dessert: fresh figs with chia and turmeric mousse. Let’s talk a little bit about turmeric, one of my favorite spices/superfoods. I adore it for its color, flavor, and beneficial properties. A spice with superpowers ♥ Some of these curcumin due qualities are:

  • stimulates bile secretion
  • increased liver detox capacity
  • anticarcinogenic, reduces inflammation, hepato-protective
  • powerful antioxidant
  • antiviral, antibacterial, and antibiotics properties
  • improved blood circulation, preventing heart attack, purifying blood, and reducing cholesterol levels.
  • improves articulation mobility and so many more

Figs & Chia Turmeric mousse

Ingrediente

  • 200g cashews (soaked in cold water for around 4 hours)
  • 400ml coconut cream (very dense coconut milk)
  • 120ml cocnut milk (normal consistency)
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 limes (finely grated zest and freshly squeezed juice)
  • 2 heaped tablespoons turmeric (powder)
  • 1 heaped tablespoon cinnamon (powder)
  • 1/2 heaped tablespoon ginger (powder)
  • 1/4 heaped tablespoon green cardamon (powder)
  • 4-5 heaped tablespoons chia seeds
  • fresh figs

Mod de preparare

1. Soak cashews for around 4 hours in cold filtered water. Drain the soaked cashews and wash well with cold water.
2. Put all ingredients, except chia and figs, in a high power blender (I use my Vitamix). Mix very well, until you have a creamy, mousse like consistency.
3. Add the chia seeds and mix with a spatula.
4. Pour the mix in silicon trays (with your favorites shape) and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
5. Serve with fresh figs.
You can also keep it in the freezer and savour it as a delicious ice cream.
